Today we have technology that enables us to keep in touch with almost anyone at almost any time of day or night regardless of where in the world we may be. We have cell phones that can send and receive email, access the web, send text messages, remotely control PCs and servers. We have so many free WiFi hotspots that anyone with a laptop can go to any major metropolitan area and get online and send an email or search the web. So why with all these methods of communications is it so hard to just get a hold of someone. Maybe it is that we have too many choices and avenues that we get confused or maybe it is that we like to have that virtual umbilical cord back to the real world but occasionally we drift off into our own little imaginary world. Or maybe it is simply that no one likes me.

Well, maybe people do like me but I am off in my own little world, dreaming big dreams when I should be here on Earth making things happen. I think (and now hope) that many people actually feel the same way. Again, not that I expect anyone to really comment, but hey one day it may happen.

If you are looking for a new Nissan or Hyundai or a quality used vehicle, give Ken Duncan at #1 Cochran South Hills a call at 412-343-3200 x19023. Tell him Anthony sent you. He is a great guy and will work very hard to get you what you want. I have purchased several vehicles from him (both new and used) and I have always been happy with the level of professionalism that Ken displays.

A great site for networking is www.linkedin.com. I check it on a regular basis and I am always discovering the wonderful interconnections that I have with people. It is great to see how one person is connected to another person I know. It is like a business version of MySpace.

Although I am not a “band wagon” fan, this is the first game I’ve gone to in a while. I will say that the seats weren’t too bad, but I don’t think I will sit in Igloo West Row E again. The seats were really close to center but you had to look through the penalty box to see some of the action (like Ruutuu’s short handed goal) but overall it was a great time.

I am sitting on the other side on Thursday (Igloo East). Go Pens!

Here is what I find amazing. College textbooks are just outrageous in price. The reason I have been given is that most publishers inflate the price because of the high number of books that are returned. However, the higher the cost of the book the more people are going to look elsewhere for the necessary books for class. Sites like Amazon, Half.com, eBay, etc are places where people instantly go to look for books. It is even more complicated when schools do not publish the book list until a few weeks before class starts and then getting the ISBN requires you to call or visit the bookstore. In at least 3 classes I have had over the years, the professors have even suggested that we do not get books from the book store, instead they almost encouraged us to go to an Internet vendor
