Here is what I find amazing. College textbooks are just outrageous in price. The reason I have been given is that most publishers inflate the price because of the high number of books that are returned. However, the higher the cost of the book the more people are going to look elsewhere for the necessary books for class. Sites like Amazon, Half.com, eBay, etc are places where people instantly go to look for books. It is even more complicated when schools do not publish the book list until a few weeks before class starts and then getting the ISBN requires you to call or visit the bookstore. In at least 3 classes I have had over the years, the professors have even suggested that we do not get books from the book store, instead they almost encouraged us to go to an Internet vendor
